What is the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)?

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) has been introduced to encourage the installation and use of systems running on renewable energy that will, consequently, reduce the UK’s dependency on fossil fuels and therefore lower harmful emissions.

Owned by DECC (Department of Energy & Climate Change) the MCS provides a certification process for both products and installers that meet published standards. Gemserv, an independent organisation, has been licensed by DECC to manage the scheme.

The MCS provides information about microgeneration products and services available in the marketplace that have been subjected to the rigorous qualifying process. The scheme is designed to allow users to purchase qualifying products and services with confidence.

If you are manufacturing microgeneration products and would like to gain MCS Certification, please contact our friendly team for a no obligation quote on 0800 519 5190.

NQA can provide MCS Product Certification in addition to the MCS Installer Registration offered by NICEIC.  For more information on the MCS Installer Scheme please click here
