NQA Client ETDE achieve Energy Excellence at The Cabinet Office
NQA attended a Carbon Reduction Conference at Holyrood in Edinburgh last week.
New Environment Sector Manger, Martin Hockaday, was there to discuss the benefits of certification to ISO 50001 – the international standard for Energy Management.
He outlined how ISO 50001 provides a focused method for improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions. He was joined by ETDE – who were one of the first organisations to sign up for the standard with NQA.
ETDE are a facilities management firm with key clients including The Cabinet Office. Ruth McKeown, Environmental and Sustainability Lead at ETDE spoke about the route to certification and the benefits it has brought to her firm including an improved rating on the CRC performance table.
She also discussed how implementing the standard had led to lower energy costs, lower maintenance costs and a shift of emphasis within the organisation.
