JPD launches Asbestos Awareness Training

JPD, part of NICEIC Group, is offering a one-day course providing essential knowledge for those who may come into contact with asbestos.

The course covers asbestos law, the sources of asbestos and types and properties of the material. It also covers use of asbestos in buildings, why it is dangerous, respiratory system defence and the related diseases caused by exposure to it.

Duties and responsibilities are examined, as are the types of survey available, management plans and what to do if there is an accidental disturbance of asbestos. Work not requiring a license is also covered.

The course is presented by Paul Newstead, a qualified asbestos surveyor and has extensive experience of delivering skill-based training. Course handouts are supplied by the HSE and all delegates receive a certificate verifying attendance on completion of the course.
