Course aims

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to perform an internal audit of part of a quality management system based on ISO 9001 (or equivalent), and report on the effective implementation and maintenance of the management system in accordance with ISO 19011.

This course will give delegates the skills and experience to successfully complete the CQI and IRCA Internal Auditor assessment and potentially progress to achieve Lead Auditor status.

It is recommended that as a minimum, delegates familiarise themselves with their own QMS and in particular, their own internal audit procedure before attending the course.

Consider attending the 1 day NQA ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS) Introduction course or our essentials e-learning to gain a basic understanding of the standard.

What will I learn?

  • How to describe the responsibilities of internal auditors, and their role in maintaining and improving management systems

  • How to explain the purpose and structure of ISO 9001:2015

  • How to plan and prepare for an internal audit

  • How to create objective evidence through observation, interview and sampling of documents and records

  • How to write a factual audit report that helps to improve the effectiveness of the management system

  • How to compile a list of ways in which the effectiveness of corrective action might be verified

"Thankyou so much for your tutoring, it was very in depth and educational. It’s certainly helped me see the audit from a different perspective. This is the first online live training that I have attended and I found it really beneficial due to lack of courses that were scheduled in Ireland in the past. So for me this type of training has opened up a lot more opportunity for me to expand my skills that I didn’t get the chance to do in the past." Claire Edwards, HSEQ Officer at Height for Hire
