ISO 45001 Migration Deadline – Only 6 Months to go

01 April 2021
Back at the beginning of 2020, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the IAF extended the OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 migration deadline by six months.

The new deadline for migrating a system from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 is now 30th September 2021 which means that there is now only 6 months for you to ensure the continued validity of your current certification.

There are further standards that now come hand-in-hand with the ISO 45001 update, you may have come across these recently:

  • ISO/CD 45002 - General guidelines for the implementation of ISO 45001:2018. ISO 45003 gives practical guidance on managing psychological health in the workplace. It provides guidance on the management of psychosocial risk, as part of an occupational health and safety management system. (Still under development).

  • ISO/AWI 45004 - Guidelines on performance evaluation. (Still under development).

  • ISO/PAS 45005 - General guidelines for safe working during the COVID-19 pandemic

What do you need to do now?

If you have already made the change from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 and have your certificate from NQA then you don’t need to take any action.

If you still need to migrate your health and safety management system, and wish to keep a valid certificate please get in touch with us to get your audit booked in.
