60 Seconds with Rowan Cammarano

17 June 2019
Marketing is a great area to get into if you want to be kept on your toes and never have a day the same as another.

What is your role?

My role at NQA is Global Marketing Manager. I’m based in our UK head office and have been with NQA for over 10 years! In my role as Marketing Manager I’m responsible for the management of our global website, developing the marketing strategy in line with company objectives, creation and publication of all marketing materials, all external communication – via email, social media and online advertising. I also have overall responsibility for brand and budget management, including tracking the effectiveness of all our communications.

What’s your most memorable moment at NQA?

As you can imagine after 10 years working for NQA I have lots of memorable moments, but here’s a couple that really highlight why I love working for NQA so much…

Our 25th Anniversary was a magical moment, I helped to organise our anniversary party, it was held at Warwick Castle. Colleagues from all over the world joined us and clients that have been with NQA for years helped us to celebrate – you can watch a highlights video here.

I’ll never forget a team building event at Go Ape, one of my colleagues Jan; who was in her 60’s at the time; amazed us all as she swung from the trees like a monkey… In the same day we went to Woburn Safari and got to see real monkeys too!

I’m very lucky as my role has a global element to it that I get to attend our EMEA Conference most years which is usually in a great location like Madrid or Prague. It’s always great to spend time with colleagues from our offices around the world and share ideas and best practice.

What’s your favourite thing about working for NQA?

I can honestly say one of the best things about working for NQA is the people. We have a great team in the UK, always supportive and helpful. There is always something happening in the office too, whether it’s supporting local charities with fun activities or International days like ‘World Environmental Day’, employee engagement is really important to NQA.

What top tip would you give people looking at certification?

My top tip for anyone looking to get certification would be to get a free quick quote to get a ball park figure to understand what the costs might look like. I think a lot of people are surprised that it’s more cost effective than they imagined. I would also recommend reading our case studies to see how our clients have used management systems to improve their businesses and what other benefits getting certified might have.
