World Accreditation Day 2021

07 juni 2021
June 9th marks World Accreditation Day (#WAD2021).

World Accreditation Day is a global initiative established by IAF and ILAC with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of accreditation and how it can benefit organizations from all corners of the planet.

Each year is dedicated to a different theme and this year is focused on supporting the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In addition to this year’s theme, below are three videos by the IAF and ILAC with the themes of People, Planet and Prosperity.

At NQA we believe that standards are essential in order to create a sustainable world. The use of management systems within a company to meet objectives such as addressing environmental impact, increasing trade and health and safety concerns by identifying risks and putting objectives, policies, processes and controls in place to improve the general overall quality of output in an economy.

Some of the standards that help support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals include:

  • ISO 14001 - the ISO standard for environmental management and performance

  • ISO 50001 - the ISO standard for energy management

  • PAS 2060 - the standard for carbon neutrality

  • ISO 45001 - the ISO standard for occupational health & safety management systems

  • ISO 9001 - the ISO standard for quality management systems

  • ISO 22000 - the ISO standard for food safety management

Each year the day is celebrated globally through events, workshops and across all major media channels, to demonstrate how accreditation and certification can help deliver a safer, more consistent, responsible world and how this can be improved upon moving forward.
