Regulation (EU) 2019/1177 amending Regulation (EU) No 142/2011 as regards imports of gelatine, flavouring innards and rendered fats

Amends: Commission Regulation (EU) 142/2011 laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption

The following amendments are made to Annex XIV regarding the importation, export, and transit, of Regulation (EU) 142/2011:

  • Egypt is now included in the list of third countries for the production of gelatine and hydrolysed protein.

  • Third countries listed are now eligible for the import into the European Union (EU) of flavouring innards* of poultry and wild game meat for the manufacture of pet food.

  • The entry for rendered fats for certain purposes outside the feed chain for farmed animals is updated to allow the production of renewable fuels and alternative fuels from imports of rendered fats.
