Enhanced powers have been introduced to tackle illegal activity at waste sites, by providing waste regulation and waste collection authorities in England and Wales the power to require waste to be removed from a site where it has been unlawfully kept or disposed of, including waste that was disposed of lawfully in the first instance.

These changes also give the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales the power, by notice or by application to court for an order, to restrict access and the importation of waste to premises.
