Amends/Commences: Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act 2015
Comes into force: 15th October 2021
Jurisdiction: Republic of Ireland
The carbon budgets for the period commencing on 1st January 2021 and ending on 31st December 2025 and each subsequent period of 5 years, must consider the emissions from the greenhouse gases specified in the CRF*. The way of calculating and accounting for the emissions is specified in the UN reporting guidelines.
*CRF means the common reporting format tables amended from time to time by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), published on the EPA website, and provided annually by EPA to the United Nations (UN) under UN reporting guidelines.
