The Harbours and Highways (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2020

The Harbours and Highways (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020.

Amends/Commences:

1. Harbours Act 1964

2. Highways Act 1980 

Comes into force: IP completion day  

Jurisdiction: England, Scotland, Wales

Specific references to EU legislation are replaced following the UK’s exit from the EU. This is to ensure that the processes and procedures for undertaking environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for major harbour schemes will continue to work effectively following the UK’s exit from the EU. There are no changes to duties for businesses under these regulations.
