UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework Has Been Updated to Beta Version

28 June 2022
The UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework has been updated to beta from alpha 2 version.

The ‘trust framework’ outlines rules that organisations such as identity verification service providers should follow, including the procedures, policies and standards governing the use of digital identity, and has followed a detailed testing and consultation process led by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

A number of changes to the framework have been made, notably the introduction of new sub-roles to cater for a more diverse application of the framework. Requirements related to biometric technology testing have also been clarified, supporting confidence in the identity verification process. The beta version additionally places an increased focus on inclusivity, accessibility and alternative routes to identity verification.

NQA will conduct assessments in the digital identity and attributes trust framework pilot certification scheme against the beta version.
