NQA in Action: Rossell Techsys
We understand the complex regulatory landscape today’s military contractors are working in, and the need for sophisticated internal management systems to establish a high level of quality control.
We are committed to providing transparency, open communication and expert auditing throughout the registration process, and have issued more than 30 thousand certificates to organisations of all sizes.
Rossell Techsys provides a number of important services for the Indian defence and aerospace industries, including developing embedded systems, automated testing equipment and wire harnesses. The company is also a preferred partner for many European and American OEMs doing business with the Indian government — including Boeing, NASA and Sanmina.
Rossell Techsys came to NQA with several key priorities:
- growing their market share
- managing risk in a complex regulatory environment
- meeting the high QC demands of the defence and aerospace industries
More sophisticated management systems were required to balance these often-conflicting goals. The company’s facilities include a 34 thousand square foot complex, which features several CEMILAC-accredited testing, verification and validation labs. In order to take their business to the next level, Rossell Techsys wished to reinforce these credentials with certification to the following international standards:
- AS 9100/ISO 9001 (quality management)
- ISO 27001 (information security management)
- ISO 14001 (environmental management)
- OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety)
Because of our extensive experience working with the international defence industry, NQA was a natural partner for obtaining the above certifications. In the words of Chandravel S, the company’s Vice President of Engineering and Business Development, “we see working in partnership with NQA as an important step to help us to achieve our goals.”
NQA provided professional support throughout the auditing processes, helping the Rossell Techsys team understand the requirements of certification, refine their current systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
Certification to the above standards provided Rossell Techsys with an important competitive advantage, opening doors to new clients and new opportunities. AS9100 certification allowed the company to be listed on the International Aerospace Quality Group’s prestigious OASIS database, an important measure of customer confidence.
ISO 27001 compliance required a major investment in improved IT infrastructure, which helped them manage risk more effectively and reduced the likelihood of their important intellectual property being compromised. The company also implemented more sustainable resource use policies to become ISO 14001 compliant, saving them money and reducing their environmental impact.
Lastly, the company was able to become a Gold Supplier for Boeing, solidifying an already-important partnership. As a result, Rossell Techsys is now poised to double its operations in the next two years.
