About your company

Nova Lucis Limited was founded in 2007 and has seen a steady growth in its client base. We are based in Oxfordshire and cover all of the UK and Ireland, as well as the rest of Europe.

We work with clients in a variety of industry/service sectors including: medical device manufacture and supply, robotics applications, Aerospace distribution (AS9120), 3D printing, Oilfield services, automotive component manufacturing, petrochemical equipment supply, construction, light/medium engineering, fluid controls, multilingual translation services and distribution operations.

Our clients range from global blue chip companies to small to medium enterprises and we believe that good quality is good business.

Our consultants take a business view to quality management, your system is supposed to meet the specification, satisfy your customer base and deliver profits. In addition it should provide opportunities to improve and make efficiencies. Any less is not value for money. Many of our business partners have taken advantage of our independent approach, which means there are no hidden agendas or office politics involved.

We offer an extensive range of Quality Assurance based services, with our core activities centred around internal quality audit management (QAsystemCare maintenance package), internal quality audit programme recovery, systems design, Quality Improvement programmes (system or product) and business process mapping to support the ‘process approach’ to quality systems management

Nova Lucis are also part of a wider management consultant network, offering expertise in:

  • Lean Manufacturing

  • Value Sensitive Restructuring

  • Manufacturing and Business Process Improvement

  • Line Balancing

  • Strategic Business Planning

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Change Management

  • Leadership Mentoring and Coaching

Why do you like working with NQA?

We enjoy working with NQA as they provide a particularly good service for SME’s, which are the majority of our clients. NQA’s ‘back office’ support is highly responsive to the needs of our clients and to us as well.

Top tip for people looking at certification?

Our top tip for people looking at certification is to understand the scope of your system and consider any growth areas that may be part of strategic and planned growth.

What do you find is the most common point of misunderstanding regarding certification or specific standards when visiting clients?

We find that the most common point of misunderstanding regarding certification is using the right certification body to add credence to the registration (i.e. UKAS accredited), and for particular industry sectors.

With regards to systems requirements, the information we have to clarify most often is the process of ‘contract review’. People don’t understand that it is simply following the trail from enquiry to order acknowledgement in order to manage customer expectations and requirements.

We believe that good quality is good business. A properly defined, implemented and maintained QMS should deliver improvements in all areas of the business, not least in growth of sales and margins, but also in long term sustainability.
