What is the amended legislation
Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations SI 2011/2860.
Who does this affect: England, Wales and Scotland
When does this change take place: Due later in 2017
The draft Regulations will, if approved, make changes to the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme by revoking and replacing the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations SI 2011/2860.
The amendments aim to reform the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme in line with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) objectives to ensure focus on long-term decarbonisation, promotion of technologies with a credible role to play in that transition, and offer better value for money.
These Regulations propose specific changes to:
-
the scheme eligibility criteria;
-
methods for calculating and issuing scheme payments;
-
budget control mechanisms; and
-
the levels of tariffs for making payments to scheme participants.
