The Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) is implemented in the UK, containing duties for aeroplane operators, verification bodies and regulators in the UK. The scheme requires aeroplane operators to offset their emissions through the purchasing ICAO approved offset credits. The scheme is being implemented in 3 stages, with the pilot phase running between 2021 and 2023, the 1st phase running between 2024 and 2026 and the 2nd and final stage running between 2027 and 2035.
