Summary
Three new target periods for climate change agreements (CCAs) are introduced, covering 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2030, with targets applying to individual facilities rather than groups.
Technical changes extend the effect of the Regulations to 31st March 2033, update the multiplication factor used to assess eligibility based on electricity use, and amend how renewable and non-renewable fuel use is calculated. Electricity from solar, wind, or water power generated on-site or not supplied through a distribution network is excluded from this multiplication factor.
