Amends/Commences: The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013

Summary
From 12th August 2025, the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 extends producer requirements to non-UK suppliers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and online marketplace operators (OMPs) supplying the UK market. The definition of a producer is also updated, with small producers (placing under 5 tonnes annually on the UK market) able to register instead of joining a compliance scheme.
OMP producers in a scheme must report tonnage and methodology for EEE from non-UK suppliers, and confirm their OMP status by 22nd August 2025. Vapes, e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products and their components are added to the list of EEE types.
