The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2021

Amends/Commences: 

• The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999 

Comes into force: 15^th November 2021

Adjustments have been made to the existing requirements for ‘staging.’ This is done to give additional time to driving examiners, so that more lorry driving tests can be conducted and lorry drivers can become qualified to drive large vehicles in a shorter timeframe. Changes also include clarification of test requirements, so that drivers who do not progress through a staged approach to licence acquisition, present competency in all required areas.
