Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act 2015
Comes into force: 23rd July 2021
Jurisdiction: ROI
A range of changes are made to The Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act 2015 so that Ireland can meet its climate and biodiversity goals by its 2050 deadline. These changes include the introduction of a “national climate objective”, a “climate action plan” and a “national long term climate action strategy”. These new additions will allow the Irish government to outline its objective to transition to a climate neutral economy by the end of 2050 and provide detailed plans on how this will be achieved.
