Amends/Commences: GB Retained: Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009 on substances that deplete the ozone layer
Comes into force: 31st December 2021

The Ministry of Defence is allowed to continue operating certain military aircraft containing halon-1301 fire suppression systems. This type of fire suppression system has not generally been permitted since 31st December 2014 due to the damage such system can cause to the Earths stratospheric ozone layer when released into the atmosphere.
