Amends/Commences: National Oil Reserves Agency Act 2007

Comes into force: 1st July 2025

Jurisdiction: Republic of Ireland

Fuel produced from palm oil mill effluents (POME) is no longer eligible for the partial biofuel obligation certificates for each megajoule of: 

• biomethane or biogas;
• hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) or co-processed HVO;
• renewable fuel used in the aviation sector; and
• renewable fuel used in the maritime sector.
