These Regulations require the responsible person (i.e. building owner or manager) to take precautions to reduce the risk of harm from fire in residential high-rise, medium and low rise buildings. The responsible person has a duty to:

These Regulations require the responsible person (i.e. building owner or manager) to take precautions to reduce the risk of harm from fire in residential high-rise, medium and low rise buildings. The responsible person has a duty to:
- instal and maintain a secure information box;
- prepare a building plan;
- ensure each floor is clearly marked and visible in low lighting conditions;
- provide comprehensible fire safety instructions;
- inspect communal fire doors; and
- maintain a record of external walls.
