Hazardous Waste Producer Registration Requirements Revoked for England
What is the new legislation:
The Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2016
What is the amended legislation: The Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005
Who does this affect: England
When does this change take place: 1st April 2016
These Regulations revoke Part 5 of the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005 which requires premises in England at which more than 500kg of hazardous waste is produced at, collected at or removed from annually to be notified to the Environment Agency by the producer of the waste.
The Regulations also make consequential amendments arising from the revocation of Part 5 and corrects an error in regulation 49(4) of the 2005 Regulations.
The Regulations update the format of hazardous waste consignment notes. The new format for consignment notes now omits the recording of a premises code, and requires industrial clasification of the producer to be recorded on hazardous waste consignment notes under the 2007 SIC code system rather than the 2003 SIC code system
