The Phytosanitary Conditions (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2021

Amends/Commences:

GB Retained: Regulation (EU) 2019/2072 establishing uniform conditions for the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 as regards protective measures against pests of plants

Comes into force: 02/12/2021

Yacón (Polymnia sonchifolia) have been added to the lists of regulated plants and pests and a variety of changes are made to the pests to which protective measures apply. Requirements are introduced that require plants exported from the Americas to be officially inspected prior to export, and for plants imported to the UK that are known to be impacted by the following pests to be accompanied by an official statement declaring they were grown in an area free of these pests:

Prodiplosis longifila;
Agrilus fleischeri;
Thekopsora minima; and
Agrilus planipennis.
