The Radiation Emergency and Consultation Regulations 2021

Amends/Commences: 

• The Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/703)

• The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 (SI 2009/1348)

Comes into force: 01/11/2021

Public Health England, an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care in England, is abolished by these Regulations. It was charged with fulfilling the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care’s statutory duty to protect health and address inequalities, and executes their power to promote the health and wellbeing of the nation. All of Public Health England’s functions will be transferred to the UK Health Security Agency.
