The Environment Act 2021 (Commencement No. 6) Regulations 2023

Amends/Commences: Environment Act 2021

Comes into force: 1st April 2023, with one section coming into force on 1st November 2023. 

Jurisdiction: United Kingdom

Duties on littering enforcement in England and fixed penalty notices came into force on 1st April 2023. The fines and time period for payment allowed on fixed penalty notices are now variable per offence. 

Duties placed on Ministers of the Crown under the Environmental principles policy statement will come into force on 1st November 2023.
