The Wine (Amendment) Regulations 2021

24 January 2022
Amends/Commences: The Food Information Regulations 2014

Comes into force: 1st January 2022

Jurisdiction: UK

As a result of the UK’s departure from the EU Single Market and Customs Union, the rules around wine trading between GB and EU are now set by the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA)*. This is to ensure the UK will meet its legal obligations in relation to wine making and labelling as well as import and export certification. The Regulations also establish transitional marketing arrangements.

*TCA is a free trade agreement signed on 30th December 2020 between the UK, the EU, and the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom).
