The Non-Road Mobile Machinery (Type-Approval and Emission of Gaseous and Particulate Pollutants) Regulations 2018

Coming into force on 21st September 2018, these Regulations implement Regulation (EU) 2016/1628. This Regulation sets out gaseous and particulate pollutant emission limits and type-approval for internal combustion engines for non-road mobile machinery (NRMM).
NRMM is defined as any mobile machine, item or transportable industrial equipment or vehicle, with or without body work, that is not intended for carrying passengers or goods on the road and installed with a combustion engine. Examples include bulldozers, forklifts and mobile cranes.
These Regulations set out the regulatory framework and penalty regime for Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 in the UK. Duties for businesses are contained in Regulation (EU) 2016/1628.
