Amends/Commences: The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships) Regulations 2008
Comes into force: 24th April 2023
Jurisdiction: United Kingdom
In order to help monitor the carbon intensity of international shipping, UK ships weighing over 400 gross tonnes must adopt new measures to reduce their carbon intensity. They must obtain and carry on board:

an International Energy Efficiency Certificate (IEE Certificate);

a Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP); and
-
a Statement of Compliance.
