Comes info force: 4th July 2018
Mini Summary
Amends to Directive 2000/52/EC on end-of-life vehicles, Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators and Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
This Directive makes amendments which establish reporting requirements for Member States regarding reuse and recovery targets for end-of-life vehicles, collection targets for batteries and accumulators, and collection targets for waste electrical and electronic equipment.
European Directives are not directly enforceable on businesses in the UK. The Directives simply create obligations for member states to implement national legislation. However, they may frequently be of interest because they set the standards which national legislation seeks to implement.
