The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022

These Regulations require the responsible person (i.e. building owner or manager) to take precautions to reduce the risk of harm from fire in residential high-rise, medium and low rise buildings. The responsible person has a duty to:
  • instal and maintain a secure information box;
  • prepare a building plan;
  • ensure each floor is clearly marked and visible in low lighting conditions;
  • provide comprehensible fire safety instructions;
  • inspect communal fire doors; and
  • maintain a record of external walls.
