The Health and Safety and Nuclear Regulations 2021

These Regulations revoke and replace the Health and Safety and Nuclear (Fees) Regulations 2016 (“2016 Regulations”). Most of the requirements of the new Regulations are identical to those in the 2016 Regulations, but there have been a few key changes to fees.

Increases to the fees for regulatory functions are introduced and a “fee for intervention” can now be imposed by the Health and Safety Executive. A fee for intervention can be charged where it is found an organisation is in material breach of health and safety regulations. The fee currently stands at £157 per hour.
