Set up to mirror the ecodesign requirements that are placed within the European Union (EU) Regulations which apply to the EU and Northern Ireland. They set ecodesign requirements for energy-related products that are placed on the market or put into service in Great Britain. They also give ecodesign standards for specific energy-relating products and energy labelling requirements for refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function. These aims to lower the environmental impacts of energy-related products by decreasing their energy-usage and carbon footprint.
