NQA are now FSSC 22000 Transport & Storage UKAS Accredited

13 February 2020
We are pleased to announce that NQA have recently been granted UKAS accreditation for the Transport and Storage category for FSSC 22000.

We are now UKAS accredited against the Transport and Storage category for FSSC 22000:

  • GI – Provision of Transport and Storage Services for Perishable Food and Feed
  • GII – Provision of Transport and Storage Services for Ambient Stable Food and Feed

We are also extremely proud to be the first Certification Body to certify a client, Carry Transport, in the US for this FSSC category. With the new version of FSSC 22000 v.4.1 in 2018, Carry Transport had already received the certification for ISO 22000, which is the base line for the FSSC 22000 v.4.1. Carry Transport are working hard to ensure all of their 30 locations will be certified by the end of 2020.

What is FSSC 22000?

Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 is an internationally accepted certification scheme based on a combination of ISO 22000 sector specific Prerequisite Programs (PRP) and FSSC additional requirements. FSSC 22000 has been developed in respond to customer demands for a recognizable standard against which a food safety management system can be audited and certified.

FSSC 22000 was given Global Recognition by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative), as well as other food safety schemes such as BRC or IFS. The certification scheme is owned by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification.
