Dharmasthala Rural Development Project receives ISO 27001 Certification

NQA Global awarded ISO 27001 certification to Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, acknowledging its transparency and efficiency, enhancing its image and facilitating financial transactions.

On Friday 15th of March 2024, NQA Global presented the ISO 27001 certification to Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) after assessing the project's performance across 114 parameters.

During a program in Dharmasthala, NQA India's General Manager C.K. Amardeep explained that NQA had conducted a thorough evaluation of SKDRDP, covering areas such as transparency, efficiency in operations, project management and report preparation.

"After being satisfied with the standards adopted at SKDRDP, NQA has decided to issue the certification, which will remain valid for the next three years," explained Mr Amardeep. He emphasised that achieving ISO 27001 not only boosts SKDRDP's reputation, especially among banks, thus facilitating financial transactions, but also promises improved services for members of affiliated self-help groups.

Upon receiving the certificate, Project Chairman and Pattaghikari D. Veerendra Heggade highlighted that the Sri Kshetra has integrated technology into all aspect's including temples, offices and every sector of the project, noting that beneficiaries of welfare schemes were also utilising technology for their transactions. Mr Heggade stressed "Technology should become one's servant and not the boss" adding "at the same time, one should remain humane and not be influenced by technology."

SKDRDP's Executive Director L.H, Manjunath explained the project was leveraging technology to bring banking, insurance and other government services at the doorsteps of over 55 lakh members. The project feels proud to obtain ISO certification after following all the guidelines to maintain transparency and efficiency in its work. Mr Manjunath highlighted that the project has developed state-of-the-art technology for member registrations, ensuring that financial transaction undertaken by a member is meticulously recorded and promptly transmitted to the relevant institutions.
