NQA Achieves UKAS Accreditation For ISO 14068-1: Carbon Neutrality
What ISO 14068-1 covers
ISO 14068-1 provides the requirements and guidance for achieving and demonstrating carbon neutrality, succeeding PAS 2060 as part of ISO’s climate change management series.
As a UKAS-accredited verification body for ISO 14068-1, NQA will issue certifications for qualifying carbon neutrality claims, giving stakeholders transparent, evidence-based assurance.
Smooth migration from PAS 2060
UKAS has set out the migration approach from PAS 2060 to ISO 14068-1 for validation and verification bodies. The former specification is being withdrawn, with organisations expected to transition their claims and evidence to the ISO framework within the defined window.
NQA was among the early adopters of PAS 2060 accreditation and has supported clients through the evolution of carbon neutrality claims. The new ISO 14068-1 accreditation formalises this progression and ensures continuity for existing PAS 2060 clients planning their move to the ISO standard.
What does this mean for your organisation?
- Greater credibility and recognition: ISO 14068-1 is globally applicable and aligns with best practice for transparent GHG quantification, reduction and offsetting.
- Clearer, reduction-first expectations:. The standard emphasises measurable emissions reductions before limited, high-quality offsetting.
- Independent assurance you can trust: UKAS accreditation provides confidence to investors, customers and regulators that claims are verified to a consistent, rigorous benchmark.
Plan your transition
