What Does This Mean?
As a UKAS-accredited certification body for PEFC, NQA can audit organisations against the PEFC Chain of Custody requirements (PEFC ST 2002:2020 & PEFC 2001:2020) and issue certificates where conformity is demonstrated. PEFC Chain of Custody tracks certified material from forest to final product, ensuring transparency and credibility at each transfer of legal ownership. Why PEFC Matters
- Independent assurance for responsible sourcing: UKAS accreditation provides confidence to buyers, regulators and stakeholders that PEFC claims are assessed to a consistent, rigorous benchmark.
- Readiness for evolving regulations: PEFC supports companies in demonstrating compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and wider sustainability reporting needs; accredited certification helps evidence due diligence and traceability. (An additional module is required for this - PEFC ST 2002-1:2024)
- End-to-end supply chain integrity: PEFC chain of custody requirements specify how certified material is identified, controlled, and recorded through processing, trading and labelling, protecting the value of your environmental claims.
