World Quality Week 2022

07 November 2022
World Quality Week 2022 starts on the 7th November. Now in its 14th year, the week aims to raise awareness of the quality management profession globally.

What is World Quality Day?

World Quality Day is an annual event held in November. Though it was first celebrated in 2008, its roots are much older, dating back to the 1919 founding of the CQI. Like World Quality Day, the CQI's mandate is to "advance the practice of quality management in all sectors," with a goal of creating a "world in which all organizations optimize value for their stakeholders through excellence in governance, assurance and improvement." Setting aside a single day each year to promote awareness and encourage education, training and engagement on a global scale was a natural extension of the organization's mission.

This Year's World Quality Day Theme

Each year, the Chartered Quality Institute selects a theme for World Quality Day. This year’s World Quality Week theme is "Quality conscience: doing the right thing." What does this mean? The CQI have said "This provides an opportunity to reflect on how corporate culture and conscience can help or hinder an organisation to make decisions and ‘do the right thing’ for all stakeholders."

An increasing number of organisations are expected to expand their scope of responsibility and to do the right thing, not only for staff, partners, suppliers, customers, but the interests of wider society and the planet as well. There's a lot of pressure on companies these days to act in the best interests of society and to “do the right thing”.

As a Corporate Partner of the CQI, NQA has taken measures to ‘do the right thing’ by implementing an ESG strategy and by becoming a carbon neutral organisation for our UK & Ireland operations, with a commitment to continually improve on our environmental performance in years to come.

Our quality certification and training services cover many international standards, including:
  • ISO 9001 (Quality Management)

  • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)

  • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management)

  • ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility)

The CQI are holding a number of webinars throughout the week to support organisations in their quest for a more sustainable future. Find out more and sign up here.
