This short course aims to provide an overview of ISO 50001:2018 including an overview of the history of the standard, a review of each clause and what the expectations of continual improvement are within this standard.

This course is a great introductory course if you are an organisation wishing to implement this standard or are looking for an overview of this standard to compliment a wider sustainability overview.

**Please note that we encourage all our delegates sitting on virtual courses to have access to a webcam. This will enable you to interact with both the tutor and other course attendees.**

Course aims

The e-Learning course is aligned to the structure of ISO 50001:2018 and is presented in four parts. These are:

  • Part 1: Fundamentals - This explains the definitions and concepts required to understand the thrust of ISO 50001:2018 and energy management

  • Part 2: Strategy - This introduces the front end of the standard which sets out the basis for implementing the energy management system

  • Part 3: Implementation - This presents the core of ISO 50001 including a clause based look at the standard

  • Part 4: Evaluation & Improvement - This describes the methods and expectations relating to continual improvement of the management system.

  • Understand the fundamental principles and concepts of energy management

  • Understand the structure, content and purpose of ISO 50001

  • Understand how ISO 50001 helps to enhance energy efficiency

This course is aimed at:

  • Anyone who wishes to understand and introduce an ISO 50001 Energy Management System into their organisation.

We recommend taking up to half a day to complete the NQA E-Learning courses, but users may take more or less time depending upon their own needs and learning styles.
