The Deadline to Transition is Here!

14 September 2018
Following a three year transition period, the deadline for updating your quality systems from ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 to the new 2015 version is here.
After 15th September 2018 the 2008 and 2004 standards are no longer valid certifications for the internationally recognized Quality and Environmental Management Standards.

One of the many benefits of the updated standards is that they now follow the framework provided by Annex SL. This structure provides a common language between ISO management systems that streamlines the path to compliance related certifications. This means they are more compatible with other management systems including the recently updated ISO 50001:2018 (EnMS) and ISO 45001:2018 (OH&S). Now that the deadline is here many people have been asking “what’s next?”… For many of our clients they are focusing on their Health and Safety certification. As of March this year there is a three year period to migrate from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001:2018 the international standard for Occupational Health & Safety.

ISO 45001 is right for you if your organization needs to demonstrate a commitment in managing the safety of workers and interested parties. If you have already implemented a quality or environmental management system aligned with the new Annex SL structure ISO 45001 can be integrated smoothly. You can find plenty of useful information here along with a clause-by-clause Gap Guide to help you with the changes.

If your current certification body hasn’t managed your transition effectively or on time, we would be happy to speak to you about your certification requirements to any of the new standards.
