SSIP - Deem to Satisfy

16 October 2020
Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) registration can reduce duplication during the procurement process and especially relates to the construction industry.

Adding SSIP to your existing ISO certification can reduce the need to have additional registrations and schemes.

If you have OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 certification with NQA, then NQA as a Registered Member of SSIP can also certify you against the requirements of SSIP at your next scheduled audit activity where an on site audit takes place.

You can use your NQA SSIP Registered Scheme certification to be recognised by other SSIP Member schemes, such as CHAS, EXOR, Safe Contractor. This saves time and money by reducing duplication within pre-qualification schemes.

A stand-alone OHSAS 18001 or 45001 certificate does not meet SSIP requirements and falls outside of the SSIP Scheme.

If you already have a valid Full approval, and you need to acquire certification from another scheme, the list below shows which H&S Assessment Scheme product is available under the Deem to Satisfy agreement.

An organisation wishing to hold OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 + SSIP must request this with their Certification Body provider so that the additional SSIP Scheme requirements are implemented during the assessment process, including data integration with the SSIP Portal for Deem to Satisfy purposes.

If you are considering this or any other scheme registration contact NQA to discuss and arrange things to meet your company needs.
