22 July 2016

The energy efficiency requirements for private rented properties are now delayed.

What is the amended legislation:  Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations SI 2016/660
These Regulations amend the:  Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) Regulations SI 2015/962.
Who does this affect:  England and Wales
When does this change take place:  22 June 2016

They amend the Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) Regulations SI 2015/962, to delay the coming into force of Part 3, which prescribes a minimum level of energy efficiency for private rented properties and introduces a prohibition on letting private rented properties which fall below that standard. 1 April 2017, in relation to non-domestic private rented properties; and
1 October 2017, in relation to domestic private rented properties.
